.01 - Types of Groups

Groups can be public or private...

As with all areas of the Just Ask Locals website, you must be a Registered Member before you can request to join a group.  Registered Members must become a group member before they can participate in the group.

There are four types of groups:

• Public Open Membership Group - The group is listed publicly, and everyone can access and read group content.  A Registered Member can join the group with automatic membership approval.

• Public Closed Membership Group - The group is listed publicly, and everyone can access and read group content.  To join the group, Registered Members must apply to join and have their membership approved by the Group Owner.

• Private Listed Group - Only the group title and description are listed publicly, and only group members can access and read group content.  To join the group, Registered Members must apply to join and have their membership approved by the Group Owner.

• Private Unlisted Group - The group is completely invisible to everyone but group members.  Nobody but group members know the group even exists. To join the group, Registered Members may either be invited by email to join by the Group Owner, or have their group membership created by the Group Owner.
